Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Eat Code handles information when you browse, enquire, create a corporate account or place an order.

Starter draft for professional legal review before publication.

1. Information we collect

We may collect account and business details such as your name, work email, phone number, company name and sign-in information.

For orders and enquiries, we collect selected items or services, quantities, dietary instructions, headcount, dates, delivery location, notes, invoice details and communications with us.

We may also receive technical information such as device and browser details, pages viewed, timestamps, approximate location derived from an internet address, and security or diagnostic events.

2. Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. Eat Code does not store complete card, UPI or banking credentials. We may retain payment status, amount, transaction references and receipts so we can confirm orders, provide support, prevent fraud and maintain financial records.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; prepare, confirm and deliver orders; respond to enquiries; coordinate with partner brands; process and verify payments; issue receipts; administer loyalty points; provide customer support; improve service reliability; prevent abuse; and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. When information is shared

We share only what is reasonably needed with partner brands and delivery teams to prepare and fulfil an order. We may also use service providers for hosting, authentication, communications, analytics, payment processing and operational support.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate fraud, or as part of a business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.

5. Corporate accounts

Your employer or corporate administrator may provide information, manage allowances or view activity connected with an organisation account. Their handling of information is also governed by their own policies. Contact your organisation if you have questions about employer-controlled data.

6. Cookies and local storage

The website may use cookies or similar local storage to keep you signed in, maintain your cart, remember preferences, support security and understand service performance. Browser controls may let you remove or block these technologies, although parts of the service may then stop working correctly.

7. Data security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including service delivery, dispute handling, fraud prevention and legal, tax or accounting requirements. Retention periods vary by record type and applicable obligation.

8. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable Indian law, you may ask to access, correct or delete eligible personal information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or raise a concern about how information is handled. Some information must be retained for legal or transactional reasons.

To make a request, email us from the address linked to your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

9. Children

Eat Code is designed for corporate customers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly invite children to create accounts or place orders independently.

10. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The effective date above will show the latest revision. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate.
